I'm Back - Jesse Brack (July 30, 2000)
I just got home, and it's 11:30pm. Long story short, I'm TIRED! I got plenty of ideas on the trip and plan to put it all on paper tomorrow. Till then, g'night.

Unexpected Life Occurrence - Jesse Brack (July 28, 2000)
I told you earlier that the only thing that would prevent me from completing a strip on time were unexpected life occurrences. Well, I just experienced my first one for this comic strip. I was just recently invited to take a trip to Indiana with my brother, who is an amazing artist unlike myself. While there, I will be doing crazy crap that any seventeen year old would (pun pun!), and also hitting the Transformer convention. Transformers is a bit before my time but my brother grew up on it. I've never really been into it that much (Can't stand the new CG cartoons) but the movie they made back in the 80's had some very nice art and held it's own as animated movies go. So I won't mind going, except some of the things they are having us do there... For instance, we go by Transformer names (Oh man...). Anyways, if your also going to the convention and like to hook up, my nam...ahem..name is Anodyn (I think, I forgot how to spell it). If that doesn't help, just keep a look out for a seventeen year old that looks lost and is sporting a long sleeve shirt with Chinese writing on one sleeve. Oh, don't come up to me unexpectedly, I'm very cautious at conventions where there are people who eat and sleep Transformers. So anyways, this will trip will give me time to plan some goodies for the site and produce future story lines for the comic. Enjoy your weeked and while your waiting for Monday to come around, check out these couple of sites that I highly recommend:

Gallery of Shawn J. Brack (My brother) - His artwork spins circles around mine.

24 1/2 Water Street - A comic that has a great story to it even though it is only in its first month.

Fool's Life - A really great strip at heart. Seriously, take a stroll through the archives and you'll love this strip in no time. I'd also like to give Elijah a thanks for selecting this comic as his "Site of the Week."

A big thanks goes out to everyone in the Keenspace forums for recommending this comic. Your comments were more than appreciated. If you have any comments, be sure to leave them in the forum. (It's the big thing under all the dust.)

Ummm... That's it :)

Good and Bad News - Jesse Brack (July 24, 2000)
Bad News: The strip was a little late today, sorry about that.

Good News: The strip was posted late because I was experimenting a different way to make the comic. The outcome is the same quality, but it cuts my production time in half. So that should prevent any futures strips from being late (unless life decides to think otherwise). Also, this story line is almost complete so I can start building some depth to the strip.

New Release Dates - Jesse Brack (July 22, 2000)
After taking a look at my web stats, I notice that traffic to this site drops enormously when the weekend hits. I'm not sure why, but that's how it is... So I've decided to change when I release my strips based on that. From now on, Being Seventeen will be updated Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Hope that clears things up and see you Monday.

Regarding the Web Page - Jesse Brack (July 21, 2000)
Speaking from a web designer's view, this page is really dead and boring. Just to give you a heads up on my current plans for the comic strip, I want to establish some consistency with more strips right now. After about three or four weeks have passed, I will be doing extra little bonuses to compliment the web page and strip. Also, I'm planning on re-designing the page a little to make it more eye pleasing. A little sneak peek at some things to come are the Keenspace "Ice Breaker" pinups, possible other comic tie-in (This one will be neat and pretty original), extra art and mini-strips, and whatever I can think up. If you think you have a really good idea, be sure to let me know by posting it in the forum. Till then, have a good weekend and enjoy the strip.

New Characters, New Looks - Jesse Brack (July 19, 2000)
After reading much feedback from people on how many of the characters look to alike, I tried my hand at trying to make some distinction with the new character Josh. Hope you like it, and yes, I actually do read and try to use feedback.

Chat With Me - Jesse Brack (July 17, 2000)
I feel the poll really doesn't help me make the strip better by just asking simple likes or dislikes for the strip. So, I invite anyone who reads this strip to come to the forum and join the discussion about what you like and dislike about the comic. I hope to explain and answer any questions you might have.

Welcome Avalon Readers - Jesse Brack (July 17, 2000)
I would like to thank Josh Phillips (No relation to this strip's Josh) of Avalon for giving us a blurb on his page and giving this page some publicity.

My Apologies - Jesse Brack (July 16, 2000)
Sorry, but the quality of Sunday's strip was really bad, and I decided not to post it. I'm experimenting with a new way to make backgrounds for my strips, but Sunday's was rushed and turned out wrong. Sorry again, but expect a new strip tomorrow.

What Do You Think So Far? - Jesse Brack (July 12, 2000)
I'm really curious to know your thoughts on the comic. If you don't mind, drop me some feedback on the forum or email me.

Learn About the Cast - Jesse Brack (July 11, 2000)
The cast page is up for your reading enjoyment. I hope this clear up many un-answered questions about the characters. Also, be sure to check out the about page for the back story to Being Seventeen.

New Strip Tomorrow - Jesse Brack (July 11, 2000)
I made the pilot strip three panels long so that could give me some time to work on the site. So no new strip today but there will be new content posted on the site throughout the day. So keep a look out and come back tomorrow for a brand new strip.

New Forum! - Jesse Brack (July 10, 2000)
Keenspace, our great host, put up community forums today for all the comics. Now we have a nice, good, working forum. Please stop by and drop some comments there. By the way, when you register to post on my forum, that registers you also to post on any other Keenspace comics' forums.

We Opened with a Semi-Bang - Jesse Brack (July 10, 2000)
My apologies, I got the strip going on the ninth like I said but I really didn't have time to do much more. I've only had two hours of sleep the past two days, so I will finish the rest of the page later today. Here's a quick synopsis though of my strip since the "about page" isn't up:

"Being Seventeen" is a comic strip that revolves around a group of friends just living life and growing up through high school. There's the good times, there's the bad times, there just 'being seventeen.' Many elements were influenced by actual events and people in my life, so I hope the comic strip produces a special little something for you.

I'll be sure to get the cast pages and about pages up as soon as possible, sorry to leave you in the dark about the story behind my comic.

Forums Up - Jesse Brack (July 9, 2000)
It's up, check it out. The UBB board is only temporary though because the free ware version of it sucks pretty bad. I'm setting up a much nicer board right now so hang with me. I'll post more updates throughout the night as I finish the page.

Welcome to Being Seventeen - Jesse Brack (July 8, 2000)
Thanks for visiting the site and I'm pleased to present you Being Seventeen. I'm aware that the tone of my comic will lose some people's interest, but I hope it appeals to an audience that will enjoy the story telling nature of my comic. Normally Being Seventeen will run every other day with 4 to 6 panel strips, but today's strip is longer than normal because of the opening. Many of the sections do not work yet because of trying to get the site up on the day I promised, but I will add them as I go along today. I hope you enjoy the strip and any feedback will be appreciated. Send all comments here.

Also, if you could do me a favor... Anyone that has a screen capture program, please take one and send it to me. I'm trying to see what the site looks like over different platforms and configurations. Thanks in advance. Email at jtbrack@yahoo.com
